Personal Information
Do not publish or share personal information without one's consent, in and out of Discord. This includes posting screenshots and videos on other social media sites.

No offensive and vulgar nicknames are allowed. Display photos should not contain any offensive or illegal content.

Respect Everyone
Trolling is prohibited in the server. Do not be disruptive or make other study buddies feel uncomfortable. Do not deliberately incite drama. Respect other people's opinions.

Incitement
Do not encourage others to break rules or incite others to be blatantly rude and offensive. Promoting or encouraging conflicts between other members is an offense in the server.
This may result in punitive measures for both rule-breakers and those encouraging rule-breaking.

Violation of Discord Community Guidelines
Discord itself has specific behavioral and content guidelines. Not following those guidelines may result in an instant ban.
- You must be at least 13 years of age to use Discord.
- Sharing sexually explicit content of minors, whether real or animated, is prohibited.
- Glorifying self-harm or suicide is not allowed.
- Sharing pirated or illegally acquired software or stolen accounts is prohibited.

Sending hate speech, including racial slurs or derivatives, sexist or homophobic statements, and similar content, is strictly prohibited.
Refrain from posting offensive content and harsh comments in topics such as politics, religion, and other serious topics.

Do not insult others or send aggressive messages to other users.

Do not insult your server moderators or attack them through private messages.

Unnecessary Pings
No unnecessary pings such as mass pings, ghost pings, and random pings. Frequent pings that are considered harassment or spam are not allowed.
Mentioning @everyone, @here, or 10 or more users in a short span is not allowed and may result in a warning.

Voice Channel Etiquette
No vaping, smoking, or sleeping in public study rooms. Wear appropriate clothes when on camera. Tank tops are fine, but being topless is not allowed. Avoid making unnecessary noise when your microphone is turned on.
When on cam, do not display distracting photos or videos. For SORs, virtual backgrounds, camera covers, or OBS overlays are not allowed. Moderators may disconnect, kick, or ban users without prior notice if these rules are willfully violated.

Streaming games while inside the study rooms is strictly prohibited. No streaming of inappropriate content is allowed in any voice channel.

Sending sexually explicit content and posting discussions of nudity, sexuality, violence, and similar material are strictly prohibited.

No Advertising Unless Approved by the Council
Posting or advertising servers, giveaways, unofficial tournaments, your own social media or content channels, or offering paid academic or assignment help services is not allowed unless approved by a moderator. Dropshipping and similar promotions are strictly prohibited.

No Sending of Harmful Material
Sending harmful materials such as GIF bugs, viruses, IP grabbers, or malware that cause malfunction on the server or on any member's hardware is prohibited.

No spamming is allowed in this server or in direct messages to server members. This includes image, text, link, emoji, and tag spam.
- Sending the same 8 or more messages in 5 seconds.
- Sending messages in 4 or more channels in 5 seconds.

No Academic Cheating
Explicitly asking for answers for any module, quiz, exam question, and similar work is prohibited. Asking for opinions, validation, and how to solve is allowed.
DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS
If a study buddy fails to follow any of these rules, disciplinary action may be given.

General escalation path
- First to third offense: warning
- Fourth offense: the DETENTION role will be assigned
- Fifth offense and more: kick or permanent ban from the server

Additional disciplinary notes
- If a user's account appears to be compromised or hacked, they may be kicked from the server or assigned the DETENTION role as a precautionary measure.
- If a user is placed under the detention role and does not submit an appeal within 30 days, they may be removed from the server. Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.
- Severe violations may be dealt with as needed. Moderators evaluate all posts based on Community Standards, Content Guidelines, Terms of Service, and Unique Channel Guidelines, and punishment remains at moderator discretion.

Why can't I chat or join VCs?
If you have no access to the channels or you are unverified, make sure to get the required roles in Channels & Roles and complete verification in ✅・verify-here.
Where is the general chat?
You can chat in 💬・lobby. You can also talk with other study buddies in the linked chat for each voice channel.
There is also a 💬・hallway for those in social rooms, though it is viewable only if you are in default mode.
Why are channels muted?
Voice channels are muted to simulate silent study rooms and minimize distractions. If you prefer talking, use the Voice Study Rooms or Custom Study Rooms.
Is this server for Filipinos only? What does "ARAL" mean?
No. While the server was created by a Filipino and initially catered to fellow Filipino study buddies, it has grown into a more diverse community.
Most members are still Filipino, but everyone is welcome. "ARAL" means study.
I chose study mode. How can I switch to default mode to see all the channels?
You can switch modes anytime in 🔴・study-mode or in Channels & Roles.
How do I modify my roles?
You can change your optional roles in Channels & Roles.
For academic roles, use 🇵🇭・enrollment for Filipinos or 🌎・enrollment for foreigners.
For Filipinos who want to select a graduate program, choose the post-graduate or alumni role first.
Where can I find study buddies?
You can find study buddies in 🤓・study-buddies. You can also join any unlocked voice channel to study with others.
For 💭・homework-help, remember that the server is not a tutoring service. You may ask for guidance, explanations, or validation of your approach, but not for direct answers to quizzes, modules, or exams.
I want to connect with people in the same program as me. Where are the channels?
Choose your academic levels and programs in 🇵🇭・enrollment for Filipinos or 🌎・enrollment for foreigners. Specific academic channels open depending on your academic roles.
Where do I get personality or color roles? How do I get my MBTI tag?
You can choose optional roles in Channels & Roles.
Certain rank roles have animated vibrant gradient colors. MBTI tags, gemstones, and zodiac signs can be bought using study cookies in 😻・mimu. Flower roles are exclusive to server boosters.
Where can I send surveys, questionnaires, or PSAs?
Use 📣・bulletin-board for surveys, PSAs, and forms.
How do the Pomodoro channels work?
The pomodoro system helps you study in focused intervals alongside other buddies. There are three dedicated Pomodoro voice channels, each with its own synced timer.
- POMO 1 uses a 200/10 focus and break pattern.
- POMO 2 uses a 50/10 pattern.
- POMO 3 uses a 50/10 pattern.
You only see a pomodoro timer after joining its matching voice channel. You can still interact with the timer even though the interface is read-only. If you fail to mark your presence for three consecutive pomodoro sessions, you will be removed from the pomodoro channel.
Use ☑️・pomodoro-tasks to log tasks while in a pomodoro room, and use the VC chat box for light conversation during breaks.
How do I gain role ranks or badges?

- Class Levels I to V are permanent and are based on message and voice XP.
- Voice Ranks from Newbie to Mythic reset every 6 months and are based on voice XP.
- Top Study Buddies reset weekly and are based on voice XP.
- Best Buddy resets every 12 hours and is based on voting.
